Thread: thinkpad trackpoint 9.10 iussue - unable to find device TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint

hello,

installed ubuntu 9.10, , found issue
followed article enabling scrolling trackpoint , adjusting speed&sensitivity, nothing worked (tried hal)

actually, trackpoint work (but not scrolling, , speed adjusting).
xinput list-props "tpps/2 ibm trackpoint" returned :

"unable find device tpps/2 ibm trackpoint"

so, looks doesn't see it, it must work (because normal usage of trackpoint work). can find, problem please (e.g. make hal work it)? thanks

(model r61i)

edit: also, configure-trackpoint utility says track point not detected

i'm having same issue same symptoms on clean lucid-alpha-1 install on thinkpad r60 .

every solution can find involves using either hal or xorg.conf. both of these deprecated!
