Thread: problems installing maya 2009 on ubuntu 64 bit

hi guys i'm trying install maya in pc amd phenom 2 quad core 8 gigabites memory ram on ubuntu 64 bit i'm trying follow steps .
in home created folder "called maya2009-linux" inside have 3 rpm files awcommon-11.5-19.i686.rpm awcommon-server-11.5-19.i686.rpm maya2009_0_64-2009.0-452.x86_64.rpm create second folder in home called "larrysito" inside folder have aw.dat created on windows partition

in terminal start typing comands


sudo apt-get install csh " made step sucsessful"

sudo mkdir /var/flexlm "i made step successful"

larry@larry-desktop:~$ sudo cp /home/larry/larrysito/aw.dat /var/flexlm "i made step succeful"


sudo chown 444 /var/flexlm/aw.dat "i made step successful"

sudo chown 777 /usr/tmp "i made step successful guess didn't error without taking care of other command "

sudo apt-get install rpm "i made command successful no error"

dowload own autodesk_maya_2009sp1a_linux64.tgz , said before estract creating in home 2 folders 1 aw.dat called "larrysito" , 1 3 rpms files called "maya2009-linux"

think biggest problem can't convert or install freacking rpms files in deb wrotte command

sudo rpm -ivh –nodep awcommon-11.5-19.i686.rpm awcommon-server-11.5-19.i686.rpm maya2009_0_64-2009.0-452.x86_64.rpm

, in answer i'm getting message
rpm: please use alien install rpm packages on debian, if sure use --force-debian switch. see readme.debian more details.


please me need install maya on ubuntu machine greatful , i'm sorry english i'm know weird please hel me

what trying do? looks trying change permissions of /var/tmp directory using chown. won't work.

should run instead.

Arduino Uno + KTY81/210 temperature sensor

hi, sorry, new , unsure lot of things, need clarification. haven't found information explains how , why things work, "do this, that" i following guide ( arduino-thermistor-temperature-sensor-tutorial ) connect thermistor arduino uno. here temperature sensor information: temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 part.no.:   kty81-210 name:   temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 description:   2.5mm, 1980...2020ohm, -55...+150°c and here sensor's data-sheet: sensor data-sheet i have connected same way in guide. works , values being serial printed. what don't understand: 1. thermistor's , resistor's ohm value should equal, correct? in case 2000 ohm? 2. thermistor has ptc, i'm guessing have invert math or use ntc thermistor instead correct values?
