Joomla offline could not work - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have installed wamp5 on laptop , installed joomla on when try access joomla offline (http://localhost/joomla) error message coming "the page cannot displayed" if connected internet works fine ...is there way can run , configure off line (with out internet connection).
thank you

a friend of main told me go internet explorer tools >internet option > connections > lan settings > choose "automatically detect settings"  working perfect ..i can configure joomla offline.

Error Message when accessing Adobe

i downloaded recent adobe reader 8.1 , having problems opening program. i receive error message "adobe reader 8.1 has encountered problem , needs close. sorry inconvenience" i'm using windows xp i have same problem after upgrading adobe reader 7 reader 8.1.2. have repaired without success @ least 5 times. have uninstalled, downloaded, , reinstalled reader 8.1.2 @ least 5 times no success in correcting issue. i run xp media center.
