Thread: Boot CDROM + USB root ?

hi,

i'm running ubuntu 6.06 on old ibm thinkpad t21. setup act print server , apt cacher.

save power running ubuntu usb flash drive instead of hard disk. hard drive configured power down when not in use reason disk accessed every few minutes no apparent reason.

thinkpad not support booting usb disk need boot cdrom , run ubuntu usb flash drive. ideally boot menu choose between booting ubuntu usb pen drive or booting clonezilla cd.

can point me in right direction instructions on how create boot cdrom loads operating system usb flash drive. have read instructions on creating boot cd alot of them out of date.
i'm assuming usb flash drive needs have ubuntu installed on ie copy file systems current hard disk.
