Thread: Ubuntu on a Vista network RDP/File Shareing - beginer help please

hello everyone, i’m new linux , forum here , i’m looking guidance. i’m sure questions aren’t original if possible, please point me existing guides.
i’ve searched heavily couple days now, variables involved, , complete ignorance linux , command lines, i’ve been unable resolve issues.
both issues concerning getting unbuntu 9.10 integrate windows vista network (workgroup).
issue 1: rdp: cannot remote desktop or 2 linux machine; i’ve completed gui-based steps connect. vista posts genaric "unable connect" message.
issue 2: network file sharing: ubuntu can access windows shares. posts come errors being “unable mount” accesses drives anyway. cannot access linux machine windows. can pinged ip not appear. (samba installed , configured best of limited knowledge).
that’s now, thank time.

those 2 issues , may have better luck 1 issue per thread.

second, please use default font size. if can not read text adjust text size on browser.

rdp connection trying connect windows box ubuntu or ubuntu windows ?

likewise file sharing, server , client ?

ie shared directory on windows , trying connect ubuntu or share on ubuntu , trying connect windows ?

guess have firewall , on windows, blocking connection attempts.

please describe guide following, step on, , exact error message getting.

Sketch upload fails with Java error (___REMOVE___/bin/avrdude)!

Arduino Uno + KTY81/210 temperature sensor

hi, sorry, new , unsure lot of things, need clarification. haven't found information explains how , why things work, "do this, that" i following guide ( arduino-thermistor-temperature-sensor-tutorial ) connect thermistor arduino uno. here temperature sensor information: temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 part.no.:   kty81-210 name:   temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 description:   2.5mm, 1980...2020ohm, -55...+150°c and here sensor's data-sheet: sensor data-sheet i have connected same way in guide. works , values being serial printed. what don't understand: 1. thermistor's , resistor's ohm value should equal, correct? in case 2000 ohm? 2. thermistor has ptc, i'm guessing have invert math or use ntc thermistor instead correct values?
