Thread: Help me choose my new laptop !

sup guys!

i'm running dell inspiron e1505 damaged.

i'm trying buy laptop, $600-700 linux/ubuntu use.

in opinion, brand ( ex. dell, acer, hp ) has least compatibility issues.

-which integrated video card should have ( intel, ati, nvidia ).

have bough new laptop runs great on ubuntu compiz?

i dont think cpu brand of issue these days in reality.
until couple of months ago using acer extensa 5220
intel graphics, atheros wireless,no webcam,
intel audio, intel celeron m 1.8 cpu 2gbram 160gb hd card readers,pcmcia
worked well, great little pc,
had mac os ten on once., come dual-core, more ram, webcams etc.but 15" , wanted bigger screen, better speakers.

intel gma video poor in jaunty, fullscreen youtube etc tweaked & recompiled kernel or 2 , had running well.
have fixed now, not issue guess..

in hardy (acer 5220) wireless nor working, had compile driver source. later on jaunty worked ok, apart crappy pulseaudio.but did'nt bother me much, use kde.
power management ok.cpu ran warm, thats celeron-m you. apart suspend to/from disc.

packard bell easynote lj 61, led backlit 17" amd turion dual-core 2.2ghz ati 3200 (dual 320gb hd) 4gbram atheros wifi,card reader, suyin webcam , azalea audio, acer machine really, too, nothing special, cpu frequency scaling works way better old celeron cpu in other laptop, power management works on distro's have tried <lots>

screen good. ati drivers install , run , seem reliable far, video frames per sec on 1280i hd video, better on xp vista or 7.. kde4 desktop looks great.

pclinuxos doesn't see wifi card,
mandriva 2009 / 2010 refuse boot properly

suspend disk works now, cpu runs nice,cool , quiet.
presently using xubuntu kde4.4.3.2
ubuntu finds , uses hardware hope.even webcam.
pulseaudio means dont use ubuntu though

Arduino Uno + KTY81/210 temperature sensor

hi, sorry, new , unsure lot of things, need clarification. haven't found information explains how , why things work, "do this, that" i following guide ( arduino-thermistor-temperature-sensor-tutorial ) connect thermistor arduino uno. here temperature sensor information: temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 part.no.:   kty81-210 name:   temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 description:   2.5mm, 1980...2020ohm, -55...+150°c and here sensor's data-sheet: sensor data-sheet i have connected same way in guide. works , values being serial printed. what don't understand: 1. thermistor's , resistor's ohm value should equal, correct? in case 2000 ohm? 2. thermistor has ptc, i'm guessing have invert math or use ntc thermistor instead correct values?
