Probable Bug in Adobe Reader 8.1.2

i using windows xp sp2 , running adobe reader 8.1.2,
1)open 2 pdf files in 2 seperate instance of reader
2)in 1 instance search string not contained in pdf file
3)after search completed, dialog appears says "reader has finished searching document. no matches found."
4) don't click ok
5) switch other opened instance of reader.
6) unable scroll or in pdf.
