When is it time to install new IDE version?
so, in short amount of time i've been using arduino ide, official release has gone v1.6.12 v1.8.1.
i'm curious how long-time users handle new releases. i've seen imply on forum have multiple versions installed. guess disk space cheap, advantage of doing that? how decide when install new version? monitor release notes , install when critical mass of bug fixes reached?
thanks in advance.

i new version whenever new need version have doesn't. new version if fixes has been bugging me 1 have. never because there , never latest newest version. assume latest version untested , don't want until i've seen else find bugs.
if version have works, keep it. if ain't broke, don't fix it.
