New view / parameter: "Category List to Category Blog" - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i found interesting feature request in "general questions" forum (cp. http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,213647.0.html) believe better posted here: 

currently, when create menu item of type

"section layout
- displays list of categories in section"

...you following output result:

(1) list of categories in section ("section layout")
    |
    | (1a) click on category title
    |
    -> (2) list of articles in category  ("category list layout")
            |   
            | (2a) click on article title
            |
            -> (3) individual article

in view (and others, too, cp thread above), in many cases make more sense replace (2) , able jump category blog view ("category blog layout") directly (1), i.e.

(1) list of categories in section ("section layout")
    |
    | (1a) click on category title
    |
    -> (2) category blog view (articles in category in blog format, "category blog layout")
            |   
            | (2a) click on article title
            |
            -> (3) individual article

reason:
in many categories have few articles display, not nice , not necessary have "list" of articles. instead of being presented mere list of 2 or 3 article titles, user prefer see beginnings of articles fotos etc. click on category (1a), tell me more category contents article list.

so think (new) view "category list (currently named 'section layout') category blog" in many cases make more sense current view "category list article list".

proposal:
maybe done in "menu item: [edit] - section layout" panel via "advanced" parameter of type

"link category titles blog view (instead of article list view)"

or that?

i have heard there extension 1.0.x option.  have wanted use setup long time.  bugs me not included in standard installation of joomla, because provides far superior method of displaying content situations, have mentioned above. 

somewhere on forum created different template when clicked on category list of article titles, showed description title , possibly picture also.  while quick solution, still not way content displayed.  i'd still rather load content blog.  readers, including myself rather able scan screen , idea of content , blog layout best looking layout display content in eye pleasing way.

i code myself if could.  , don't patching core files much, makes updating harder.  love see plugin or these features.  many many people support it, trust me!!!  off hand i'd theres 100-200 people have looked similar feature, , more haven't voiced needs or wants on this.

i ended using many menus, , linked category blogs similar result wanting.  nice if didn't have create menus every section/category have.  think have 365+ categories.  big site categories cover topic imaginable.
