i took video on old hi-8 sony camcorder, burned dvd , encoded .mp4 because having trouble importing hour long dvd pre. problem now, after 10 minutes program crash striking regularity. program not recover, , end losing whatever was doing. have tried giving program many privileges can find , running in compatibility mode xp. guess running out of memory...is there way allocate more? dont mind if things run little slow...is there way force use ton of memory on paging file?

in going dvd .mp4 have gone frying pan fire... pe7 (and other editors) have problems working these compressed formats intended delivery. best bet convert dvd dv-avi pe7 handles natively. see faq on conversion:
