Thread: separate code and data file buffers, howto set this up?

hi all,

when copy large file on linux system, system no longer responsive. due following 2 factors:

-one problem complete bandwith of harddrive being used filetransfer.

-the second factor has been cached in filebuffers, overwritten file being copied. means every program want run has re-fetched busy harddrive.

on system, have data on 1 partition, , programs on partition. there way disable file buffering on data partition? way programs buffered, system remains responsive.

maybe file buffers can split, 1 code, 1 data:

Error Message when accessing Adobe

i downloaded recent adobe reader 8.1 , having problems opening program. i receive error message "adobe reader 8.1 has encountered problem , needs close. sorry inconvenience" i'm using windows xp i have same problem after upgrading adobe reader 7 reader 8.1.2. have repaired without success @ least 5 times. have uninstalled, downloaded, , reinstalled reader 8.1.2 @ least 5 times no success in correcting issue. i run xp media center.
