collated printing on multi-page documents by default

i print large numbers of multi-page pdf documents. far, haven't been able find pdf reader chooses have these documents printed in collated form, when print more 1 copy. ms word this, , used this. consequently, waste lot of paper (or time, having sort out many pages). there option have multi-page documents printed in collated format default, when want more 1 copy? didn't see in preferences, nor did find thread when did forum search.

i downloaded version 9 of acrobat reader , tried printing multiple collated copies level 3 postscript printer. set copies number , check collate. you'd think it. not in life. produces multiple copies of each page have collate them manually. have tried several combinations of settings , nothing works. tried setting printer advanced options # of copies , collating. no joy. way can multiple collated copies print document directly openoffice.org created it. produces multiple collated copies printing complete document many copies specify. think adobe @ least if can't depend on whatever trying make software now.

Error Message when accessing Adobe

i downloaded recent adobe reader 8.1 , having problems opening program. i receive error message "adobe reader 8.1 has encountered problem , needs close. sorry inconvenience" i'm using windows xp i have same problem after upgrading adobe reader 7 reader 8.1.2. have repaired without success @ least 5 times. have uninstalled, downloaded, , reinstalled reader 8.1.2 @ least 5 times no success in correcting issue. i run xp media center.
