Thread: Why does a Ship-it disc and an .iso not have the same install scripts?

hi all,

curious something... computer without doubt beyond use date , needs replaced without question. until have money afford in these troubled times i'm stuck it! means architecture of computer won't take adsl or broadband leaving me use dial alternative. restricts upgrades tremendously though have had @ times 8 or 9 hours continuous use 1 connection.

until lately used request disc ship-it found while update manager knew there software on disc wouldn't load it. usual notification there new software , did wish load it. however, whenever clicked yes couldn't find autorun.inf... way upgrade stuff disc in cd rom , re boot after backing files. alas, disc has many files these days has become impossible... literally terabytes of stuff! way upgrade , keep via update manager.

since ship-it decided not grant me further upgrades, forced choice of downloading .iso or buying 1 company on internet. decided try , download! of firefox , add-on called "down them all", managed controlled usage (pause , redial) obtain first 8.10 9.04 iso's. @ 5kb/s took 3 days complete each download. each disc recognised download manager new software, in case decided proceed upgrade after clicked on script.

query... if can boot ship-it disc , .iso have downloaded , same possible upgrade manager (when can find autorun.inf) why aren't discs same... i.e upgraderun script instead of autorun.inf? both same job!

steve...
