Thread: Resolution problem after installed and removed nvidia-glx-new
hello!
found myself wanting "pimp" desktop, , starting reading various theme engines @
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=809695
following advice enabling compiz, forced install nvidia-glx-new in order compiz working. after doing so, rebooted, , screen went black reached login window. (monitor didn't find output)
so, removed nvidia drivers "sudo apt-get remove nvidia-glx-new", , it's normal. however, screen resolution reduced 800x600.

did go wrong?
removing nvidia driver means fell default vga adapter part of os. run hi-res graphics, need install 1 or other nvidia drivers. have been using 195.22 beta several weeks no problems. there newer 195.53 alpha version, haven't tried it.
have run nvidia driver compiz, , never found didn't work.
