Thread: Run Bitdefender as Root

i have bitdefender installed on computer. computer entirely ubuntu, no windows partition. can run gui bitdefender, can't scan of entire system. can basic directories 1 @ time (/usr, /etc etc.) not on single scan. bigger problem though owner (root), subdirectories , files cannot scan because permission denied. how start bitdefender gui , scan files , directories? use "sudo" command , if command?

have mount of directory wife's window's machine. bitdefender found trojan on machine, when told disinfect trojan nothing happened. option remove offending file or bitdefender quarantine it?

sudo apt-get remove bitdefender
you don't need -- it's total waste of resources, time , space. there other areas of security should worried , relying on av (which worthless) detracts attention away important stuff.

Error Message when accessing Adobe

i downloaded recent adobe reader 8.1 , having problems opening program. i receive error message "adobe reader 8.1 has encountered problem , needs close. sorry inconvenience" i'm using windows xp i have same problem after upgrading adobe reader 7 reader 8.1.2. have repaired without success @ least 5 times. have uninstalled, downloaded, , reinstalled reader 8.1.2 @ least 5 times no success in correcting issue. i run xp media center.
