Different Search functions in content - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

as per amy's suggestion, posting search question in separate thread.

i want enable visitors search information in different sections or categories different pages on site. 

as understand it, search plugins such 'search content' , 'search categories' enable search of target areas instead of restrict search areas.  example, if 'search newsfeed' plugin published, enables search module search newsfeeds other search plugins have been published.

- there way restrict searches particular areas of content?

- can 1 have different search functions inside content items search different sections or categories of content?  example, have search function on page searches particular section , search function on page searches different section.

- creating database form way accomplish or can stock joomla 1.5 or existing extensions?
