Thread: Desktop or Server ?

hi all,
here's issue: have old desktop ubuntu desktop year now.. became addicted ssh through lan , internet.
today decided had crash , now.. well.. i'm still working on details of backing data.. after need re-install ubuntu , comes problem:
desktop or server edition?

barely use computer nowadays check i'm lazy via ssh thought of trying out server edition, problem still use programs (like firefox visitors). server installation have capability have gnome installed on it? complicated? , have ssh, http , other services start independently user session of gnome?

please give me guidelines (even if links walkthroughs or comparison threads)..

server edition command line based. yes, can install gnome, or other x gui of choice. not sure, believe can set gui available given user @ login.

can set samba server , have your file server. mine hosting couple low volume web sites , file server via samba. works great.

Arduino Uno + KTY81/210 temperature sensor

hi, sorry, new , unsure lot of things, need clarification. haven't found information explains how , why things work, "do this, that" i following guide ( arduino-thermistor-temperature-sensor-tutorial ) connect thermistor arduino uno. here temperature sensor information: temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 part.no.:   kty81-210 name:   temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 description:   2.5mm, 1980...2020ohm, -55...+150°c and here sensor's data-sheet: sensor data-sheet i have connected same way in guide. works , values being serial printed. what don't understand: 1. thermistor's , resistor's ohm value should equal, correct? in case 2000 ohm? 2. thermistor has ptc, i'm guessing have invert math or use ntc thermistor instead correct values?
