Thread: Errors on install

i ordered kubuntu 8.10 cd , i'm trying install on old computer. meets minimum requirements , has win98 installed on it. starts out fine andasks me way want install choos install kubuntu sense dont want windows on there. asks language , loads kubuntu logo moving bar gives me buffer i/0 errors , cant read pages , logical blocks.... had friend reconfigure settings , loaded same way time took me straight sudo commands played , can't understand (im new programming) tried typing in kde , k , casper , kinds of stuff... somehow got grub commands , didnt understand either went sudo commands... not sure suppose @ point. rebooted...
reset bios , went errors never gets past. have tried installing beside windows... first attempt said couldnt find cd. second attempt said there error , couldnt continue.

have 2000 hp 500mhz, , 328 ram 15gb hd

ideas?

you try burning ubuntu 8.10 (perhaps alternate edition) location

Arduino Uno + KTY81/210 temperature sensor

hi, sorry, new , unsure lot of things, need clarification. haven't found information explains how , why things work, "do this, that" i following guide ( arduino-thermistor-temperature-sensor-tutorial ) connect thermistor arduino uno. here temperature sensor information: temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 part.no.:   kty81-210 name:   temp. sensor 2000r +-1% to92 description:   2.5mm, 1980...2020ohm, -55...+150°c and here sensor's data-sheet: sensor data-sheet i have connected same way in guide. works , values being serial printed. what don't understand: 1. thermistor's , resistor's ohm value should equal, correct? in case 2000 ohm? 2. thermistor has ptc, i'm guessing have invert math or use ntc thermistor instead correct values?
