Thread: Suggestions for software or hardware for media center?


so, i'm trying put home media center old hardware have. i'm looking @ running mythbuntu, freevo, or boxee. computers accessing couple ubuntu pcs , mac. i'm wondering if there class-compliant (that term, right?) audio interfaces multiple outputs.

trying set media server store media (mostly mp3s, movies) access on network, combination of wireless , wired. i'd have controls in each room what's playing on separate speakers in different rooms, , volume. it'd nice able output main desktop, also.

take time put together, i'd start foundation. thoughts? or resources check out?

i've put similar together, , recommend boxee, far it's been absolutely brilliant! there few issues, i've reported these devs (not supposed go detail, part of beta testing agreement)

however, overall, it's fantastic!
