Thread: Utility to kill selected window

greetings.

before forced delete (actually rename) .gnome2 directory in order fresh start, had icon on panel (task-bar? ssssssss ) kill next window clicked. useful when program stops responding.

problem: rebuilding panel, don't recall name of utility. had copied off 1 either applications menu or system menu can't find now.

questions:
  1. what name of kill-next-clicked-window utility?
  2. what directory (presumably place under .gnome2) holds links programs on panels? search under renamed .gnome2 directory yields lot of empty directories , nothing can identify objective. (in case head manually edit panel - not likely.)
  3. why can't 1 blessed question per post?

much.

code:
xkill
if memory serves ctrl+alt+esc default shortcut launch it.
