I need help trying to install 8.1.2 from 8.1.1? And update is for 8.1.2 only.Help please.

hello hope 1 know me out here!!! have read of post 8.1.1 try , download , upgrade 8.1.2 , of ?'s don't have answers person needs fix adobe on computer befor go mad!!i have windows xp home sp2 , other hi tech items on computer. got update adobe automaticlly download 8.1.2 , went ok , using when needed. else happened computer , had restore few days. , noticed had adobe 8.1.1 , not newer 8.1.2 installed few days befor. downloaded 8.1.2 manualy , adobe web page downloaded 32mbs of data. @ end of download said not install it.! , end page opened did not have infomation go on fix problem.? hope 1 can unsderstand i'm saying? can never hold of @ adobe help. can't find email tech support anywhere here? don't dare uninstalling 8.1.1 , go , try download new 8.1.2, because read alot of people not install 8.1.2 @ adobe reader 8.1.2 download page!

Error Message when accessing Adobe

i downloaded recent adobe reader 8.1 , having problems opening program. i receive error message "adobe reader 8.1 has encountered problem , needs close. sorry inconvenience" i'm using windows xp i have same problem after upgrading adobe reader 7 reader 8.1.2. have repaired without success @ least 5 times. have uninstalled, downloaded, , reinstalled reader 8.1.2 @ least 5 times no success in correcting issue. i run xp media center.
