hi have laptop windows xp , ubuntu 9.10 dual-boot, on 2 partitions. in community told me need backup ubuntu because linux people make new version of every 6 months , need reinstall ubuntu. wanted confirm , ask means didn't understand completely. if have backup ubuntu, know if there special program can me adding small partition on computer save backup. similiar thing exists windows, called "rescue , recovery". save me having burn cds. there quite few programs can use backup system on linux, depends on how want backup, , want backup. far backing up, boil down personal preference, although people on here can give suggestions.. use dropbox backup documents , such. yes, ubuntu put out new version every 6 months; in april , october. can either reinstall upgrade, or there option upgrade system without fresh install... once again, boils down personal preference. hope helps some.. ...

i've searched repeatedly reference 'preparing document reading' annoyance , have found 2 solutions: 1) it's preference can change 2) remove 3 plugin files reader installation #1 not true, preference lets specify how many pages 'prepare' @ once. #2 works, hack, causes error message not being screen-reader capable (i know can turn off), , requires different files deleted between versions. i'm sure more files have delete in reader 9. what have not able find acknowledgement adobe issue or should fixed. why? if anything, reader's accessability features should follow windows accessability settings. point putting in feature 95% of people not ever use no possible way disable it? the #2 hack not practical solution large-scale deployment of reader, , shouldn't necessary in first place. only adobe can explain "why", here addressing fellow users, not adobe... i created slideshow on premier elements4 , wanted add narration. clicked narration button , seemed work. realized narration stopped after first slide though narration recorder , video kept going. how make 1 continuous narration multible slides? have set wrong? can give more details, chris? when "stopped", mean audio track literally ends @ end of slide? (make sure you're in timeline rather sceneline mode can see what's going on?) also, try recording in timeline mode rather sceneline. and go edit/preferences/general , set timeline playback , auto-scrolling page scroll, program won't waste computer resources moving timeline record. i have program cycles relay either after select-able amount of waiting time (dumptime) or push button. trying "lock out" push button cycling relay having selected amount of delay time (lot)from 0 20 secs. i'd ideally: - dumptime timer ends or push button activated - relay cycles - if there selected lot delay time, @ point wait lot , "lock out" (i using lok lock bit) logic accepting button press time. - after lot delay time, unlock push button , wait either press of dumptime timer end. so after clean end code below, still doesn't work right. if other value 0 read a2 (analog input 2) seems cycle through process twice after each button press. lot being 5000 or 5 seconds, cycles, waits 5 secs, , instead of resetting led , waiting new button press, cycles second time, waits 5 secs, resets led. keep getting stuck in cycle , resetting. can define better way "lock out"? dumptime selection portion , rest works fine. i'm racking brain on "...

salve tutti. avrei alcuni dubbi riguardo ad un progetto che finora ho testato sulla board arduino uno rev3 ma che vorrei portare standalone. il sistema sarebbe una gestione di 8 uscite pwm cui comandi vengono impartiti attraverso usb da un'applicazione  java su pc. più precisamente questa il mio problema risiede nella necessità di creare una scheda che oltre ospitare il mio atmega328p e tutto ciò che necessita al resto del progetto, abbia anche l'elettronica necessaria al dialogo via usb, il più possibile simile quella originale della board originale. sapreste dirmi se esistono gia dei moduli che ricalcano perfettamente questo genere di funzione o se devo crearmela da zero? so che il tutto è gestito da un atmega16u2 specializzato nel gestire la porta usb ed interfacciarla con il 328p e mi chiedo se è necessario fornirlo di un firmware particolare. mi pare di capire che lo stesso 16u2 in qualche modo viene riconfigurato da parte del software del progetto, in modo d...

hello, installed ubuntu using wubi on sony vaio vgn-fw480j , working more , going alright except microphone , sound balance. microphone : try speak in , , nothing , installed alsa mixer , unmuted microphone , hear buzz sound ( think stereo ) , checked sound settings , duplex working output , , see video driver in sound drivers section ( huh? ). sound balance : tried opening video , using vlc , , opened sound settings , started testing sound balance @ 50% , made 0% ( left ) , became ... increasing volume , 100% ( right ) , muted it. in advance , , xde ps : laptop 64bit , wubi did auto install settings , built-in microphone edit : have sony vaio vgn-nr120e laptop doesn't have built-in microphone use logitech camera microphone seems working alright used skype , problem built-in microphone , not microphones in general edit : woops ... noticed wrong section , can mod move topic software section? - bump...

i've known ruby while, , can build guis in many other toolkits, java/swing, gtk(with c , python, , more recently, .net), , small bits , bobs few others, including winforms , wxwidgets. so, i'm interested in picking toolkit ruby (sounds awfully familiar similar thread made .net gui toolkits c#) reasons, i've heard it's poor language guis... maybe here elaborate. anyway, know other toolkits reasons... java/swing portable guis computer-illiterate end-users, gtk because gnome fast becoming 'standard' gui unix, winforms due being 'native' windows, , wxwidgets because looked cool. however, reason wanting ruby gui toolkit quite different. here factors take account... - don't care immediate portability, care potential portability. - want free licensing let me want without costs/restrictions, regardless of whether sell code or not (which won't anyway). qt out automatically. - has @ least remotely stable. - don't care ...
