i appear have lost operating system -- karmic. earlier today tried report firefox bug using apport , got message not report bug until i'd updated tzdata. unfortunately, i'm noob , don't know tzdata is. went synaptic package manager , removed replaced tzdata. other files removed tzdata, assumed replaced when reinstalled. wrong. didn't notice problem until turned of pc , rebooted. won't boot. message error 15: file not found. tried recovery mode under several linux kernels. no success. help!!! i have bitdefender installed on computer. computer entirely ubuntu, no windows partition. can run gui bitdefender, can't scan of entire system. can basic directories 1 @ time (/usr, /etc etc.) not on single scan. bigger problem though owner (root), subdirectories , files cannot scan because permission denied. how start bitdefender gui , scan files , directories? use "sudo" command , if command? have mount of directory wife's window's machine. bitdefender found trojan on machine, when told disinfect trojan nothing happened. option remove offending file or bitdefender quarantine it? help. william lott code: sudo apt-get remove bitdefender you don't need -- it's total waste of resources, time , space. there other areas of security should worried , relying on av (which worthless) detracts attention away important stuff. is using hover box show images. (from joomla bamboo) have installed hoverbox v1.01 (v2 has mootools stuff , may conflict other items on pages) hoverbox great showing images , but... none of image titles or alt texts showing. params filled in , images fine not single title appears.  does recognise or know solution - thanks mummy i have posted in joomla bamboo forum , had not single reply.
